It’s been a while since I’ve written here, but now I’m back. I think. Right now I’m studying religion at the University of Gothenburg and waiting for christmas.
In anticipation of the new year it’s time to recap the best albums of the year. The year 2009 that is. I might be a ”few” months late but better late than never. These kinds of lists are ever changing, but fun and I force myself to make them. There are alot of albums that would also suit on a list like this, but I have to set a limit somewhere.
Here it goes. (I have linked the albums that exist on spotify so that you can listen to them if you have an account)
1. Callisto – Providence
2. Jonathan Johansson – En Hand I Himlen
3. Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster – III
4. Converge – Axe To Fall
5. Impending Doom – The Serpent Servant
6. Baroness – The Blue Record
7. Mono – Hymn To The Immortal Wind
8. Mastodon – Crack The Skye
9. mewithoutYou - It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All A Dream! It’s Alright
10. Poison The Well - Poison The Well – The Tropic Rot
11. Loney, Dear - Dear John
12. Inevitable End - The Severed Inception
13. Gustaf Spetz - Good Night Mr. Spetz
14. The Chariot - Wars And Rumors Of Wars
15. Thrice - Beggars
16. As Cities Burn - Hell Or High Water
17. Advent - Naked And Cold
18. Hands – Creator
19. Inhale/Exhale - Bury Me Alive
20. The Qemists - Join The Q
I thought I’d post a couple of videos here today. Just some stuff that I’ve stumbled upon.
This video Is just amazing. It’s two dudes covering Destinys Childs Cater hit 2 You. When I saw it the first time I had goosebumps through the whole thing. Really talented guys!
This next one is a song by Jonny Craig (Emarosa, Ex. Dance Gavin Dance). Good song and he sings very well, I prefer this live-version over the album-version. The album is also cool and you can check it out if you have Spotify.
Right now I’m listening to Children 18:3′s new album Rain’s A Comin’. Check it out; it’s really poppy, punky and cool.
I don’t work right now. Actually; I have been searching for a job more or less for over a year now. And sometimes it’s REALLY hard, not really having something to atatch your life around and not having a proper, steady income. I have encountered many problems this year; both with myself and with the labour market. Problems like my lack of initiative, work experience, guts, education, drive etc.
But I’m really tired of this now, and God willingly I will get a job soon!
Yup… I’m listening to BM at the moment. I have sort of rediscovered it.
But I’m not listening to the ”trve, kvlt” stuff from scandinavia. Instead I looked up some ”modern” stuff from America, with influences from post-rock and progressive music, a bit closer. Bands like Nachtmystium, Xasthur and Wolves In The Throne Room…
It incorporates the dark and raw with the atmospheric and intelligent.
We’ll see how long I will be stuck ”here” before I go back to my post hardcore..
Here I am at one o’clock, after a night with homemade burgers, coke and ahlgrens bilar, watching House. I should be sound asleep right now so I can wake up well-rested tomorrow, ready to continue studying for my Italian-exam (Which I should be doing all of the time) coming tuesday.
But I think I’ll watch one more episode…
